Science Question:
Using random samples of the THEMIS Images in both hemispheres; and ascertain which type of craters are more prevalent - preserved, modified or destroyed?
Main Results:
1) Modified craters are the most prevalent in both the northern and southern hemispheres.

2) The hypothesis was that destroyed craters are more prevalent in the Northern Hemisphere, and modified and
preserved craters are most prevalent in the Southern Hemisphere. The THEMIS images seen by the
students reveal that this hypothesis is incorrect due to findings showing that the most common form of
crater in both hemispheres of Mars are of modified type.
