Science Question:
What relationships, if any, are there between dust devil tracks and wind streaks on Mars?
Main Results:
1) We found that most of our wind streak images appear between 30 N and -30 N longitude. Where as the dust devils tracks are scattered randomly. 2) Since Dr. Bandfield said that wind streaks require strong wind, similar to earth, the strongest wind currents are found between 30 N and -30 N longitude. Since dust devils tracks are formed in areas without heavy winds but in low pressure areas, that is why we find them scattered without a patterned. Wednesday's Final Report
Extra Comments:
1) Working with the people was great. I loved talking to real scientists and learning what they do.
2) I learned so much about Mars and how it is like Earth. I found a lot of similarities between wind on both planets.
