Science Question:
Does the latitude and longitude affect the number of dust storms on Mars?

Download a presentation of the history of Martian dust storms

Download a presentation with images of Martian dust storms
Main Results:
1)  Our data indicated that there were more dust storms occurring in the Northwestern quadrant of Mars.

2)   There were more dust storms occurring in the northern latitudes at the time we analyzed Mars.

3)   Dust storms seem to decrease the farther East from the 0-degree longitudinal line on the map.

Extra Comments:
1)     We need to research the conditions under which dust storms occur and apply it to our study.

2)     Conditions on the surface of Mars could have more affect on number of dust storms than longitude and latitude.

3)     We challenge the 2006 eighth graders to continue this research.
