Science Question:
Given an image of a channel on Mars, is it possible for us to tell if the channel was formed by lava flow or water flow?
Main Results:
The image region has a wide channel that cut down through rock layers probably formed by many thin lava flows. Later, impact craters cut the walls and floor of the channel.

The channel had a smaller depth to width ratio compared to Mars lava channels we examined.

Although the channel had features similar to both lava channels and a water channel, the evidence tends to support the channel being formed by water flow.

Extra Comments:
I really learned a lot about Mars. I felt like a pioneer exploring a new land.

Working in groups and hearing different ideas really encourage me to learn more about our subject.

It was the most interesting and insightful project I have ever been fortunate enough to be involved in.
